My Daddy’s birthday

It was Daddy’s birthday yesterday. We went on a walk, and that was fun. Mimi and Grandpa and Jennie came over and smiled and laughed at me, and that was fun. There were presents to look at and chew on. But then everyone turned out the lights and started singing and then cheering and then taking pictures, and I didn’t know what was going on. That part was not so fun.

But happy birthday, Daddy! Yesterday after nap time I didn’t want anyone to hold me but you, and that’s because I love you.

Daddy’s bedtime songs

I just put a very reluctant Carson down for a nap. We sing to him before naps or bedtime, so I started singing “I Like to Look for Rainbows.” I know it’s one of Josh’s favorites, even though I don’t usually sing it.

I got one line into the song before Carson whimpered, “That one that Daddy sing.”

“You’re right,” I say. “Dad does sing that song a lot. Can I sing it now?”

“Daddy sing it,” he whimpered again.

So he had to make do with me singing “Families Can Be Together Forever.”

Carson can be a kind of tender kid. :)

Our children have the same parents

We use iPhoto right now to hold all of our photos, and one of the main draws is the facial recognition it does. It’s really awesome to be able to click a button and see all of the photos of Carson, or of Annelise, or of Paige and I together. It’s the future.

One fun thing is running through the photos the program isn’t sure of and classifying “Is or Is Not _______.” In the case of the screenshot below I was classifying pictures of Annelise, and it just so happened that it brought up some of her newborn pictures… and one of Carson. And I had to do a double take—Carson looks just like she does, or Annelise looks just like Carson. Judge for yourself, but I suppose they must have similar genes!
