The Thanksgiving of all Thanksgivings

This year Thanksgiving was especially awesome because Josh and I got to be with both of our families, all at once. Yay! Josh and I basically come from mirror families: both the oldest of six kids, with siblings all the same ages, Josh with all brothers and me with mostly sisters (and one awesome brother Cole we all love). So when Josh and I got married, our families got along great and became best buds. Josh’s mom was so nice and invited my whole family out to their house for Thanksgiving, and it was a blast! Thank you so much Lymans, and thanks for coming, Ellsworths! There was lots of good food, some great Just Dance 3ing, gingerbread houses, games, family photos, and fun.

We got to spend a whole week with the Lymans, too, which was a blast. Carson never lacked for attention, and it turns out he’s got some awesome uncles who love to hold him and make him smile and laugh. And Grandpa and Grandma Lyman, wow! They were the best. Carson was so good and happy all week.

Here’s some photos from the trip! Thanks again family! We love you all!

October Update

Here’s a little bit of what’s been going on in our lives lately.

First, we really enjoyed General Conference weekend. We loved hearing the speakers and uplifting messages, and on top of all that we got to see family, introduce Carson to Grandpa Lyman, uncles Chris, Zach, and Luke, great-grandparents Lyman, and some other cousins and aunts and uncles, too. And we blessed Carson. It was a great weekend.

Carson with Dad the morning before his blessing. He was happier when the blessing happened, promise.

Then the next weekend, Grandma Ellsworth came to visit. Carson had a fun time seeing his grandma again, who kept trying to give him toys and get him to play (Grandma can’t wait to play).

We had a big dinner Sunday night with Grandma and my sisters and some friends. Ah, sisters. Love them. :)

While Grandma was visiting, we took Carson to his first restaurant: the BYU Creamery. Ah, such a Provo baby. Josh tried to feed him ice cream. Not yet, Josh. ;-)

Oh, and it snowed for the first time not too long ago! Just in the mountains. See? The weather’s gotten nice again, but it’s fun to feel fall on the way.

And then there’s just the normal but oh-so-amazing moments that happen every day with Carson.

We love all the cute faces, the new sounds. Oh, and Carson’s rolling over! He flipped from his stomach to his back one day and has done it several times since. Still trying to master it, though. :) We never could have guessed how amazing it is to just watch your brand new baby do the smallest things, like flipping over. We just think he’s the greatest. :) And we’ll post a video soon!

Lost Pictures

Have you ever found a camera you haven’t emptied the pictures from in forever, and then finally put the pictures on your computer, way after you remembered you had even taken them? Well, I hadn’t…until today! And now it’s like I just found a five dollar bill in my blue jeans! Awesome! So here are some pictures taken foreeeeever ago that I forgot I had:

Here’s some pictures of my awesome brother Cole and sisters Shelby and Jennie at a wildlife park in Texas:

And here’s some pictures of my sisters Brenn and Audrey trying to break into our house the same way Josh and I had to:

And finally, here’s a picture I took forever ago on my very first day of my study abroad program in Alcalá de Henares, Spain!

Yea for being lost and getting found.

Weekend with Family

Well, Mom’s Women’s Conference friends did hog her pretty well, but we got to spend a great weekend with her so we were happy. On Sunday Brenn and Mom were both over. We had lunch, set up the baby’s crib, and ate dinner – so pretty much ate and talked. What more could you ask for? It was a great day.

Monday we went to the Carl Bloch exhibit at the BYU Museum of Art. It was a really neat exhibit; we definitely recommend going if you’re in the area. I had seen a lot of Carl Bloch’s works before in Church magazines and such, but never realized who the artist was or his story. And seeing the paintings in real life is an amazing experience. The MOA does such a great job. Before the MOA it was shopping, and afterwards lunch at the BYU Creamery (classic). All in all, a fantastic weekend.

Thanks so much for coming, Mom! We loved having you and are so grateful for all your help (and the food). Sister Brenn, it was awesome to hang out with you, too.

Aren’t moms and sisters the best? :)
