Family Reunion in Texas

Josh and I just got back from an awesome Beaird Family Reunion in Texas with my mom’s family. It was the best just to see and spend time with everyone. The beach and pool were a blast, though Josh and I both came back pretty badly sunburned (okay, really badly sunburned…). It was worth it, though (even worth all the grimaces from family members when they saw us walking by). And the bounce house my mom got was so much fun! Josh and I realized, though, how we’re not kids anymore—it seems like all the younger kids could fall and pop right up, but we really got beat up in the slip-and-slide bounce house! Other highlights include visiting the Bayou Wildlife Park, where we saw cows, deer, zebras, giraffes, ostriches, emus, and lots of other animals; and, of course, shooting off the potato gun that Cole made. All in all, with the beach and the heat and the activities, I think my family introduced Josh to a true Texan experience, and I’m proud to say he not only survived, but loved it, too. We’re excited to see the Ellsworth family again this winter! Here are some pictures!

Happy Fourth of July

So, we’ve had some great vacations this summer, including the Fourth of July we just spent with the Stewart Family Reunion (Josh’s mom’s side). We had a great time eating food and watching fireworks and talking lots and lots of politics and having forums and playing games. It was great to be with family, relax, and have fun. We played night games with all the college students, teenagers, and kids one night, which was a blast—even though Josh’s brother Luke ran into a fence and got the biggest goose egg ever! Poor kid, but he was tough. We also got to see the Oquirrh Mountain Temple open house, and it’s a beautiful temple. All in all, a fantastic weekend! Here are some pictures!
