Posts about the good normal everyday life stuff: eating out, family outings, coloring, just living life and loving it.

Carson eats food!

Yay Carson! After a few unsuccessful attempts at rice cereal, we tried sweet potatoes, which Carson really seems to like (even though the pictures don’t seem to show it). He gets really excited when we feed him and opens his mouth wide and breathes really fast; it’s pretty funny. Today we tried rice cereal again, and this time he seemed to like that too. What food should we try next? :)

First park day

Today was Carson’s first trip to a park. The weather was really nice and he loves to look outside, so out we went.

We just sat on a blanket in the (mostly dead) grass, which Carson was fascinated with. He didn’t really look at anything else the whole time we were there. Just pulled at the grass. I’m excited for future park trips when he’ll learn to appreciate it more, bit by bit. :)

Family dinner nights

We’re really lucky and really happy that this year we have four siblings at BYU. Caleb, Sam (Josh’s brothers), Audrey, and Brenn (Paige’s sisters). They’re pretty much all hilarious, especially when they’re all together. Caleb’s the loud one who makes us all laugh, Sam is surprisingly good at stupid human tricks and makes a mean mashed potato, Audrey is the good baker and now tap dancer, and Brenn is the way fun graphic designer (just don’t ask her to bring pudding). We love them all. :) Thanks for coming over for family dinners, guys, even if maybe me and Josh aren’t quite as funny as you. But you sure keep us laughing. We’ll sure miss you all when we move!

Carson is six months old!

Carson turned six months old on Saturday! Yay! At his six-month check up we found out he’s doing awesome. He’s right about at the 50th percentile for everything. We also introduced him to rice cereal, but he wasn’t such a fan. He took one spoonful each time we tried, but then made a face and wouldn’t take any more, or would spit it out if we snuck some in. I guess we’ll try something else. :)

He can also sit up on his own, and still lots of rolling and more and more scooting, twisting, and wiggling. He also gets up on his knees fairly often, especially when he gets up from a nap, because he sleeps on his tummy with his bum in the air. He’s just barely started rocking a little tiny bit on his knees, but after a second he’ll spread out all flat again or roll over or push up on his feet (think downward facing dog). Well, whenever crawling gets here, we’re excited! On the list this week is to start baby-proofing the house. It’s about time!

Here’s some pictures of the cute little guy we love so much. Happy six months, Carson!
